2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala Honoring Betye Saar And Alfonso Cuarón Presented By Gucci - Inside

Over the weekend, the stars accumulated in Los Angeles for the 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala, where Billie Eilish debuted a new look — her green-rooted, black hair cut into a fashionable mullet. The new 'do received quite the praise, with outlets crediting the young singer for making the '80s style "cool" again, but it turns out the haircut was the unfortunate byproduct of a hair dye job gone wrong.

TMZ caught the 17-year-old at the airport on Tuesday (November 6), and when asked about her new 'do, the anti-pop star revealed the real reason why she's got a business in the front, party in the back look.

"Somebody dyed my hair and they burnt half of it off," she confessed. "Now it looks like a mullet...That s**t is not on purpose though." The "Bad Guy" singer doesn't seem too fond of the hairstyle, either. "I'm growing that s**t out," she declared.

Her next live performance is November 24 at the American Music Awards, so we'll have to see what she does with her hair between now and then. Eilish officially goes back on the road in March 2020, but before that she's set to perform at the Los Angeles stop of iHeartRadio's 2019 Jingle Ball tour in December and ALTerEgo in January.
